Hi Tom (:
due to the PBS on TrueNAS Video i wanted to set up bridges.

In my Setup everything has a DHCP Address except the OPNsense itself.
so i can see an manage IPs from one place.

but when i switch the nic from dhcp to static (without any ip) and add a bridge with DHCP it says it cant reach the gateway o:

wen i switch the NIC from DHCP to Static with an ip save it
switch the NIC from static (with ip) to static (without ip) and than create a Static bridge it works as you showed it.

but if i try to switch the bridge from Static for DHCP it errors our again

do you happen to have any ideas how to get a bridge with DHCP working?

I don’t think that is supported for TrueNAS. The container get use DHCP via the bridge, but probably not TrueNAS.

oh ok that would explain it.
strange that the GUI offers this option
thanks for the clarification
in my utopia everything is dhcp enabled and can be centrally managed (:
