I’ve been working on setting up Zabbix to replace our existing monitoring solution. So far almost everything is going well, but the alert notifications have been a little tricky.
One thing that was really nice about our old monitoring solution was it could send multiple alerts as a single email. For instance, if we lost multiple ping sensors (either to a site being down, or multiple server reboots, etc.) instead of sending me one email for each ping sensor, it would combine them into a single email saying “Hey, all 30 of these sensors are down.” I’ve been trying to find a similar solution to use with Zabbix.
Has anyone had any luck creating something like that? I’m not unopposed to other methodologies for alerting, I’m ultimately looking for a solution for my team that doesn’t make them lose track of a situation because they have to sort through 100 alert emails.
