This was a great video. One reason I’m now proudly Windows-free on 100% of home compute (~7 total nodes). The VMs running claude desktop went Linux after I found out even the claude beta linux app seems to work fine. The gaming pc also went, but I admit that was last. Cachy works great on both native and non-native titles: Cyberpunk, Doom Eternal & Dark Ages, Black Mesa, Anno 117, Atomic Heart, CS2, even Starcraft II runs fine. I also saw the new Framework 13 with friendliness towards linux.

No you cant debloat your way out of Telemetry or the GDID that got a hot topic after the hacker got caught and it was revealed about the telemetry isn’t “anonymous” like Microsoft have stated over the years when the court documents revealed the unique GDID is attached to the telemetry.

But.. you can block your way out of the telemetry with firewall rules. and also when you block some of the microsoft domains your installation do not get a GDID identity as it cant be generated when it cant connect.
