Since this was the most recent video, I’m going to link a problem that I recently had. Yes I know, these VMs were poorly designed, the disks were too big and I should have mapped a share…

It might be worth adding this as a warning to your next video, unless they fix it. Workaround has been to use no compression on these machines. The working theory in the first post seems right to me as I’ve been watching the process tick by in task view and pool stats and I can see when stuff stops transferring, and watch the task and it hits about a 5 minute timer and errors.

Both of my problem VMs were “fixed” by backing up with no compression. I’m going to try shrinking the disks to see if that works. Fairly confident that this will be the proper fix for my situation and something to keep in mind for any future VM creation that needs storage.
