XCP-ng private network vs 10gb NIC

Purely a theoretical question, would a private internal ‘NIC’ within XCP-ng be a lot quicker then than an proper external 10gb nic ? - (between two VM’s on the same host)

From my testing having two VM’s on the same host get’s you 10.2 Gbits/sec between them on my Dell R710. Might be faster on newer hardware.
