WiFi drops all clients at 11:38am everyday

So 6 years into installing Unifi and PFsense together this is a new one for me. Just did an install into a small office PFsense 6100 MAX, Unifi USW-24-POE, Unifi U6 Pro. They only have 6 people in the office right now. Most of the staff will work on the road and need to connect to a NAS via VPN in the next stages.

At 11:38am every day all of the Apple MacBooks devices are dropped from the WiFi. The 4 Windows laptops work perfectly fine but the 6 Apple devices get dropped. Phones both android and apple do not seem to be effected.

I’m looking for ideas on where to look to troubleshoot this issue. It’s been 5 weeks and I haven’t made any progress. Google hasn’t turned up any good ideas either.

You can first check under insights then analyzer from the dashboard and filter for a specific device to see if there are any errors there. If that does not help, pushing all the logs to a Syslog server such as Graylog and filtering for the MAC addresses of the device that are having the issue might yield some better insights.

Hi BoatYardJunkie,

That sounds frustrating! Since it’s happening at the same time every day, it might be worth checking for any scheduled tasks or settings in your network that could be causing the drop. Also, consider looking into the DHCP lease times; if they’re too short, it could lead to disconnections.

Another thing to check is the Unifi network settings for any specific rules or configurations that might affect Apple devices differently. If you haven’t already, testing with different WiFi channels could also help to avoid interference. Let us know what you find out!
