Why is it every vendor wants to schedule a 15-30 minute call to do any quotes or other stuff that could be done in an email? If I’m asking for a quote, I’m likely already sold on the product…don’t waste my time…I’ve been through many calls where they already had all the information they’ve needed, and then just folow up with an emailed quote anyway…and then you wonder why I just order stuff from Amazon, CDW, NewEgg, Monoprice, B&H, et al when I can.
Also for cold call sales…Again if I take the time to answer the call, be prepared to give me a 2 minute pitch right there (I start a two minute timer with them and hang up if they don’t peak my interest), if you can’t, you are not going to get any further. I’m not going to schedule a 30 minute call sometime in the future to get a cold sales pitch (if I did that to everyone who asked, it’s all I would be doing every day). If you gain my interest on your 120 second pitch, I’ll always just tell you to email me your website and such for further review. If your website doesn’t do a good job selling your product/service (I’ve had many claim that before), you need to change your website.
