I don’t use Veam but we have clients that use TrueNAS as a Veam storage target.
Yes I set this up while in corporate. Don’t use iscsi make sure you use nfs or smb.
NFS would be the better choice.

Hi @bobstertime any particular reason for not using iSCSI? Is it because of TrueNas? Or because of Veeam itself? Not trying to get into a giant iSCSI vs NFS debate, just trying to understand in case I come across this scenario. I’ve set up Veeam with iSCSI to a Nimble storage array for a client and it’s been rock solid, but, they’re workload isn’t super intensive.
Replication and snapshot space, iscsi is great as long as you have the space for snapshot retention.
