Upgrading to UDM Pro - Question

I am planning to purchase a UDM Pro to replace my current USG. My question is that will the UDM Pro also fully replace my Cloud Key Gen2+ in functionality after the swap?

Yes, it has both the UniFi controller and the UniFi protect.

Yep, what @LTS_Tom said.

When I moved from a VM running unifi controller to Gen2+ I just backed the config up, shut down the VM, started the Gen2+ and restored the backup. It all just seemed to work.

Not done a Gen2+ to UDM Pro but I would assume the same process works.
