On the latest pfsense the openvpn version has changed. When I try to connect from my support laptop (Ubuntu 20.4) I get Unrecognized option or missing or extra parameter(s) in myprofile.ovpn:4: data-ciphers (2.4.7)
I updated the OpenVPN client on a Windows machine at the office and the vpn config file worked without an issue so I know it’s the client version on Ubuntu.
Been looking around at how to update it and I came up empty. Anybody else going through this?
No, but I am running the latest POP_OS! 21.04 which is based on Ubuntu 21.04 and has OpenVPN version 2.5.1.
Thanks. My Pop is good too. For reference I found a tiny little checkbox in the client export utility in pfsense that allows you to export 2.4 compatible config files.

Thanks neogrid. That’s what I was looking for. Cheers
