Unifi Protect App

Hi everyone,

I have a G6 Instant set up on my network on its own VLAN and am using a Cloud Key Gen 2 to administer it.

I can access the camera without a problem by logging into the Cloud Key Protect via Browser and the Protect IOS App was working fine but suddenly has started to drop connection and say “Live Feed Lost” and is telling me to re-adopt, etc.

Of note my IOS device is on a different subnet but I have an allow rule based on IP/alias for subnet to subnet coms.

Any idea why this is glitching? It worked for weeks and just stopped. I’ve noticed IOS on WiFi is showing an IP6 address now which I don’t recall seeing before but as much as I would suspect my subnet firewall rules, that doesn’t seem to be the issue.

If you put the phone on the same network as the cloudkey does it work?

  1. I put the device on the same network and reproduced the same error
  2. I opened all inter-subnet rules by IP and still reproduced the problem
  3. In my current state (different subnets, restricted by IP address) I can access the Cloud Key login page via IOS browser but the app is still giving me this connection error

I am less familiar with how to use IOS, but in Android I would purge the app settings completely and reconnect it.
