Unifi multicast issues still exist today?

Hi,

I got a supplier the other day that told me unfi has some serious problem with multicast traffic and that they stay away from it as far as possible and are advising cisco. On a specific site we could be implementing multicas traffic in the near future which runs mostly cisco gear but we are migrating to unifi gear.

I did some online research and i indeed notice lots of problems and advice not to use unifi in this case.

But all seems from 4 or 5 years ago, so my question is this still a problem today?

I am not aware of any current issues with UniFI and Multicast Traffic.

While none of the Ubiquity system I have had, have ever had the issues, I did assist someone on spiceworks last year using their bridges between buildings. The symptom there was DHCP getting borked by multicast rebroadcasting. Like every packet was replayed a second time with the bridge being the originator the second time for reasons unknown. Not sure on the firmware age or models, it was definitively pinned on the devices, when they came out of the mix all issues stopped. Not sure what they did finally.

thanks for the info…
