Mac filtering is one method we have used to make sure that only the correct devices connect to the pre-configured switch ports. I just had a client ask to set up an outdoor AP at his restaurant for both the ordering pads and customer use. Usually I would have both a private network and guest network on the AP which is not an issue.
The issue I am concerned with since this is outdoor and not a very good secured location if someone disconnects the cable and plugs into the network I want to make sure that they get absolutely no access. Would it be Unifi’s AP’s mac that would be put into the switch port’s config and not block the authorized devices? How has other folks done this?
