Unifi Lite-8 PoE won’t unadopt

I unadopted everything from my UCG-Fibre and then reset it to get some practice setting it up. Went through complete setup and tear down twice without any problems. Third time around, my Lite-8-PoE keeps showing up as already managed by a different console, so it can’t be adopted.

I’ve tried the reset button on the bottom…9, 10,11, 12 times. It restarts and then shows up in the controller each time as being managed by another controller.

Never had an adoption problem before in the… eight years that I’ve used Unifi.

Any and all suggestions welcome and appreciated.

I’ve had success doing the following:

  1. Hold down reset switch for 10 seconds

  2. SSH into the device (ssh ubnt@device-ip)

  3. set-inform http://controller-ip:8080/inform

  4. Adopt in your controller interface

If you can ssh into the switch, type the following in the CLI:

syswrapper.sh restore-default & set-default &

and press Enter to reset back to factory. If not, the reset button should work, but you may need to hold it down longer than for a quick reboot. Try 30 seconds if 10 doesn’t do it.
