Unifi gateway to send category trafic on specific wan

Hello

I have an issue on an office network, we have 2 WAN uplinks, one is dedicated fiber and the other is commercial service. We have them connected on a UDM Pro Max, and configured on load-balance(60% dedicated-40% commercial). Both uplinks have a 200mbps speed and do a good job handling the traffic.

We want to push the all the streaming media and social network traffic through the commercial uplink since we don’t care if that traffic gets lost or has a lower response time. Should we use a QoS or policy based routing? Can someone post a working example or steps to achieve.

There is not really a way to route by application type out a certain WAN interface but you can do it it by domain using the policy engine.

Thanks for the response. I ended up creating a policy based route to send an entire zone mainly via the dedicated fiber link. Similar as how you set up the VPN route but in this case I’m sending VoIP traffic and avoid the kill-switch so in case of failure the phones use the other WAN connection.

Also I’m evaluating if priotizing the streaming categories using QoS to send the traffic on the comercial link might work but I don’t know if it might do more harm.
