Unifi express speed problems

Hi everyone!
I have a unifi express and i have 1000/1000 from my internet provider. But i’m only getting around 450mbps when doing speedtest and i thought the unifi express was supposed to handle routing 1000mbps?

Do you have a PPPOE WAN connection or do you use any of the intrusion protection options on the express. Both of these will slow down the Express…

I use fiber connection for my internet in to a converter and then rj45 to my unifi express and i have turned under security like device identification, traffic, country restrictions, ad blocking, dns shield is all off.

If you hook a computer directly to the converter/ONT do you get full speed internet?

I get full speed when i connect to the converter directly, and i got full speed when i used a mikrotik router before i switched to Unifi Express as well. I liked the idea of a Unifi device with wifi and router in one box

The express is a bit on the slow side…I don’t think you will get gigabit speeds. A better Unifi choice would be a Cloud Gateway Ultra or the Cloud Gateway Maz. You will see full speed there but you’ll have to add an AP

Are you running the speed test from the UniFi Express? Or from a computer attached to it? If the latter, is it connected via ethernet or wifi?

There seem to be others that report that PPPoE drops the WAN speed. Are you able to confirm if you’re using PPPoE or not?

I can confirm that i’m using fiber connection and not PPPOE. And i used a ethernet cable to my laptop runnig debian

Are you able to test between LAN ports to see if it’s isolated to WAN or not?

I have one at my home with 100Mbps up and down, but unfortunately, my ISP uses PPPoE, and it doesn’t perform well. I contacted their support team, and they gave the same response as @jeff3820 .

I even hooked up another router in front of the ISP, connected it via DHCP, and tried enabling all features, but it’s still slowing down.

They should provide products that perform well with the features they offer.

Saying it’s gigabit speed is too much, especially since I’m not even able to get the full 100Mbps.
