Unifi Controller 5.13.29 - Upgrade issue?

Followed instructions here to update from 5.12.72 to 5.13.29 hosted on Ubuntu Server. Everything appears to have gone fine on the server but after refreshing the UI, it still shows I’m on 5.12.72.

Has anyone else had this experience?

It may have not made it to the repository yet?

lol well that would explain it… I am relatively new to Linux - is there a way to check?

Because I have auto updates/patching on for my Linux systems I load the UniFi controller updates manually and not from their repositories. It might be the case that they have not updated them yet.

The repo still says it’s on the old version. We should give it some time.

I went ahead and updated mine manually

Thanks for the info! Would you mind sharing how you checked the repository?

In the Unifi Controller I was able to DL the updated .deb file; however, how did you get that file from your laptop to your linux VM? My Ubuntu Server doesn’t have a desktop OS loaded.

Thanks again!

I did “apt search unifi” and then scrolled down to locate it (or you can grep).

My screenshot shows the process.

  1. I used wget to download the .deb file using the command “wget https://dl.ui.com/unifi/5.13.29/unifi_sysvinit_all.deb
  2. I then used dpkg to install it: “sudo dpkg -i unifi_sysvinit_all.deb”

This is good if you want to have some stability testing and not really sit on the bleeding edge.

ok thank you! I didn’t realize that the wget was pulling the DL - makes sense now! Thanks again!
