I am trying to get more familiar with the Unifi Network UI and found the stats page.
I have the UCG Fiber, USW Pro 10 XG PoE, Switch Enterprise 8 PoE and 2 USW Flex 2.5G and of all ports only the UCG Fiber is dropping packets.
Is this normal? It is dropping on the WAN side (1Gbit on a 2.5Gbit port) and the LAN side (10 Gbit DAC) . I was hoping to supply you with more accurate numbers, but for some reason the UCG Fiber is not on the list over devices I can reset the stats for (all the others are OK)
On the LAN side I think I have seen the counter increase by about 300 in 4 hours Rx. Not sure on the LAN side, but the counter (Tx) is sitting at 143726.
I have ordered a new DAC cable to see if it makes a difference.
Newest software and the unit is not under heavy load.
Should I be worried? And is there another way to reset the stats for UCG Fiber?
That is odd and might be a hardware issue with the cable. The only way I know to reset the stats is the way I have in this video at about the 9 minute mark:
Yes that is where I look too - and I can’t see the gateway in your list either. I just find that odd that one device is left out f the list.
I can report back when I get the new DAC cable, but 3 out of 4 ports in use are dropping packets so it is hard to swallow that it is cables (one a 1Gbit wan link…).

This might be unrelated, but I’m sure I saw a few days ago on Reddit (sorry I can’t remember exactly whereabouts) that someone had a similar issue and it was related to the WAN port being set to auto negotiate the link speed. Once they set their WAN manually to 1Gbps then the link stopped being dropped. Again, could be unrelated, but worth a try.
Also - UI support confirmed that you are not able to reset the stats for a gateway - only switches. Not making much sense as the ports on a gateway are a switch, but added it as a feature request.
Hey! I’ve had a similar setup with the UCG Fiber, and a few things helped me narrow it down:
The packet drops on both WAN and LAN sides could point to issues with the transceiver or cable — swapping the DAC cable like you’re doing is a smart move. If the drops disappear after that, you’ll know it was hardware-related.
Regarding resetting stats, the UI currently doesn’t support stats resets for UCG Fiber yet, which is odd – hopefully that’s added soon in a firmware update.
If the drops continue after the new cable, I’d try:
Testing with a spare port or switch to isolate whether the issue follows the UCG port or stays specific to the cable
Checking firmware updates — newer builds may resolve performance bugs
And if nothing changes, definitely reach out Support to rule out a faulty unit
If you see drops go away after the swap, you’ll be in the clear. Fingers crossed — let us know what the new DAC shows!
