UCG and DLNA Across Subnets

Hi all - I’m seriously thinking to go to a whole UniFi setup (not that I don’t love my Netgate 6100…) and am wondering about how one would go about allowing DLNA across subnets. I do this now on pfSense with udpbroadcastrelay and that seems to work well. However, I cannot seem to find how to do this with a UCG? Is this as simple as just checking Multicast Enhancement?

Does anyone have any idea how to do this and works reliably? I do not want to set up multiple interfaces for each subnet on the VM for Jellyfin.

Thanks!

There isn’t any way in the UI to do this. It would involve IGMP proxy and mDNS. But would have to be done in the CLI which isn’t recommended.

There are ways to work around it which are a little involved and probably not worth it in my opinion.

UniFi has support for both mDNS and IGMP

Thanks Tom. Have you tried Jellyfin the way that I am proposing? Thanks!

Nope, my solution is to have Jellyfin on my server lan and a rule that allows the devices on my home network, such as my Chromecast, to access it. It’s only one port you need to open.
