Hey all,
Been really struggling to get TrueNAS replication working. I have two sets of systems and both are failing to complete a replication. I followed Tom’s latest guide on Pull Replication without issue.
Once I start the jobs however, they usually hum along pretty well until 5-10%ish. At some point, after the connection goes basically dormant, the 30 snapshots in the progress area in the upper right double to 60 and I get “[EFAULT] Replication has stuck.” after it finally times out.
One set of systems are going over a UniFi Site Magic VPN and the other two are on the same network but different subnets. Anyone experienced anything similar to this or know where I should be logging in the logs to get some direction?
Thanks!
There are job logs that will likely offer more insight into what the failure is.
Following up a bit. Once I found the job log (as shown in one of the Tom replication videos) was able to see the second system which was on the same physical network was having stability issues. Believe the switch they are both connected to is having some issues. Connected both directly with Ethernet and it had zero issues cruising along a gig. Not keeping it this way due to going to firewall off the backup network more but it at least got the first round of backups done (plus switch is getting swapped this summer).
The first system over a VPN however hasn’t changed much. Both connections are pretty sturdy so not sure why it isn’t reliable enough to keep the replication task happy. Doesn’t seem to be any options to help it be more resilient so going to keep looking around
