TrueNAS CORE / SCALS Configuration Backup and Restore

Hi Community,
i’m looking for new TrueNAS SCALE host - but need a short feedback, about the difference if a OS drive faile on TrueNAS CORE and TrueNAS SCALE.

  • TrueNAS CORE
    After replacing a faild OS drive, i reinstall TrueNAS CORE on the new OS drive. I left the data drives and applications untouched, import my saved configuration after the installation is donw (same OS Version). Than reboot the host. Everything was comeing up successfully.
  • TrueNAS SCALE
    No idea, if the SCALE host can be restored in the same way as the CORE host - or is there any difference that must be carried out ?

It is the same process. Always keep a configuration backup and if the host drive dies, reinstall truenas and import config.
