Good discussion, I have run across all manner of pricing for services some of them more like Microsoft’s pricing schedules. What I have been using is buy the manhour for all services. I do offer a retainer rate buy x upfront and get billed for overages at the retainer rate. Simplifies things clients like it because it is predictable. When working with MSPs they go by my billing rates for actual services rendered.
