Tailscaled process throwing constant errors

I recently set up tailscale on my pfsense by following Tom’s video (great content btw) and it works perfectly in getting to my local network. However, I noticed that when I checked my system logs I would see the following errors occur literally every minute:

“tailscaled” PID time&date dns: resolver: forward: sendTCP: response code indicating server failure: 2"

or

[RATELIMIT] format(“dns: resolver: forward: sendTCP: response code indicating server failure: %d”

I am not sure what would be the cause. Not sure why it seems to be a dns issue when I can get to my devices/apps using FQDN with connected to my tailnet. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Are you seeing this error in the system logs?

Yes, here is a snip:

I tried a few things like:

  • Disconnecting the pfsense from the tailnet
  • Reboots
  • Connected to the tailnet and I am able to resolve local fqdn provided through Haproxy

Apologies for the delayed response.

I checked a few systems, none are showing that error. Might want to post this over in the Netgate forums as well.

Thanks for checking will do.
