Synology to backup local Windows Folder?

HI all

Looking to get some insight on how i can use my Synology DS1522+ to backup a local windows 10/11 file and folder only, not the entire device. It seems Active Backup for business is not giving me the options I need . I also want this 100% offline (not on internet) so Synology Drive seems to be a cloud based only option?
Am I missing something else in the package center that natively allows this? Thanks

You can probably setup syncthing and accomplish what you want.

Thanks but I dont even see Syncthing listed as an option to install on my 1522+ . Do I need to check a box or something to get that to show up?

Synology Drive syncs files to the Synology.

Thanks Tom but would it do this on a LAN only and have no need to interface with internet access? Thanks!

It should work as long as the devices have access to the the Synology that Synology Drive is running on.

Thanks Tom, going to try this

So update, I tried this and it backed up the files via the shared folder, I set it to occur daily and assumed the first backup would take some time since its approx 4TB. Problem is I have thousands of “Unsynced due to invalid file name:”
Basically it backed up every folder but not a single file within a single folder.
Nothing other than the defaults are checked for “do not backup .tmp etc” so not sure what I am missing?
