With the announcement of the price increase of BackBlaze (Personal Computer Backup) I’m curious if its a better option to just get a 2 or 4 bay synology NAS for backup.
I understand this is not a 1 for 1 comparison of backup strategies and if you have unlimited resources…get both!

While I love Synology and their Active Backup because it works so well you still should have an off site backup. Synology does offer C2:
Cloud storage for backup is becoming pricier. I switched over to idrive’s S3 compatible storage for my 3-2-1 backup strategy. Workstation to NAS, local NAS to NAS backup, and NAS to Cloud.
How about a pair of 2 bay (or whatever size is needed) Synology devices one in your home and one at a friend or family member’s home? I actually do this with the “Synology Drive Sharesync” installed on both and a Wireguard tunnel between our houses. Pick the friend with the fastest home ISP service
