Synology and Microsoft 365 users sync

Hi,

I’ve got a Synology DS220+, at this moment users are local on the synology. Is there a simple and cost effective way to use Microsoft365 users and groups to access smb shares on the synology?

Feedback appreciated.

Not to my knowledge that you can do this unless there is some middleware to communicate to your 365 tenant with users and groups.

My suggestion would be to use Active Directory if possible so their passwords are synced with 365 and you have the functionality of ACL’s for your shares.

Thanks for the fast reply, I’ve missed my notification.

I had a look at AD, the cloud solution is really expensive, I think I’m going to install a local AD server and sync it with Microsoft 365. It seems the cheaper solution.

Any other idea?
