We are considering switching our endpoint solution to another vendor Right now, we have Symantec Endpoint Protection and I think is one of the buggiest product I’ve ever used and after Broadcom bought it feel development is getting slower! I want to know what experience with endpoint security solutions you have and what system you used before or using now and why
I don’t mind the cloud connection, but I want the server to be on-premise.
I have search couple of vendors but almost every one of them is number 1 in G2, I will check out Huntress and Sentinel-one
We switched from onprem ESET to cloud based CrowdStrike. I feel CrowdStrike is a far better product because it detects malware on endpoints and it detects endpoint attacks. A multi platform agent (Windows, Mac, Chromebook, IOS) is installed on each endpoint and communicates with a cloud based server. The Internet bandwidth consumption is minimal. It is truly a great product.
What do you mean by “CrowdStrike is a far better product because it detects malware on endpoints and it detects endpoint attacks”? ESET can’t do these things?
We are using ESET both on-prem and cloud an it works just fine.
Only problem now is that on-prem no longer will support mobiles and tablets, only cloud will do this and that is why we are using both on-prem and cloud.
We have used ESET for about 10 years now and it’s been a great product and here in Sweden the support is very good.
One thing that is annoying is that they seems to change the naming and packaging frequently.
We have used ESET for many years and it is a popular product here in South Africa and well priced. You get the ESET Protect cloud management console which I would highly recommend over running the management server on prem. We currently have ESET Protect complete which has vulnerability scanning and 3rd party patch management and I have just got budget to upgrade to their XDR package.
Depending on which modules you buy, it’s on-prem (ePO) or cloud. It runs on top of Windows Defender so has all the hooks that Defender provides. Also Linux and Mac version, though not sure if Mx processor for Mac is supported since I don’t have any of those to check against.
