I have a TrueNAS Scale server setup and running the latest version. I want to replace the HBA in it with a different HBA; basically going from an 8 channel one to a 16 channel one. Yes, the new HBA is supported in TrueNAS Scale, I have tested it in a different test system.
Is there anything special I need to do before hand? Export the existing pool before? etc. I do have a backup of the datasets on the exiting pool.
Just be aware that you drive “letters” may change depending on how the new card initializes the ports. Truenas generally doesn’t care about this kind of change past a slightly longer first boot while it analyzes the new layout.
