Splitting Unifi up between 2 devices

Hi ,

Has anyone succefully managed to split Unifi up over 2 devices , for example - our Dream machine was running a little sluggish so i wanted to Create a ubuntu VM and move the controller over to there for the networking side of things but keep the Dream machine running the cameras

Does anyone know if this is possible or if it will cause issues down the line ?

Yes, you can.

You just point to Unifi devices to the new VM by changing the info command.

Unless they recently changed the way it works, the Dream Machines can not be adopted to another controller.
