(solved) Truenas no access to web guide, samba shares or plugins

Hi, I’ve have a truenas mini x+, running scale version 25.10.1 i can not access the web gui, can not access samba shares and I can not access my ubiquiti console running as a truenas plugin. I have access to the terminal via iKMV running on the managent port. When I login as root truenas states that the web user interface is at:

10.0.80.3, 192.168.100.13 using both http and https with different ports for each.

Truenas is configured with static ip addresses, no docs. Can someone please help me access my truenas?

Are the link lights on for the network interfaces? When you are in via the terminal on TrueNAS can you ping anything?

can you ping 10.0.80.3 ? then try, http://10.0.80.3

Tom, The link lights on the network interface are not lighting up, but they seem to be lit on the switch it is connected to.

I can not ping out from the truenas console. It is not even able to ping the router. There is probably something going on with the switch but I can’t do anything about that since the unifi console is running on the truenas.

Pavlos, My computer is not on the vlan to ping that. I can’t access the unifi console to change that either.

could it be a bad rj45 cable? if one end of the cable to the switch has lights but the truenas end has no lights, could be bad cable. Worse, the truenas nic might be dead. Plug your laptop to the same VLAN so you can access truenas.

Thanks, I’ve tried everything, Except that. I guess it is true sometimes. Its that dumbest most basic thing. I don’t know why I never checked the link lights or tried to ping. That should have been my obvious first step.

Thanks to you both I am finally in the webgui so hopefully I can get things going from here. Thanks.

Turn out the issues was also that I didn’t set a default gateway. DOH!

Everything is fine now though.
