shared storage conundrum

i have a dell t50 server im using just for xoa with 1tb ssd in it. i have dell r730 with a raid 5 storage array. this unit has 24cpus and 192gb ram. i installed xcp-ng on it, but now there is no way to use this array as shared storage, which in my opinion is rather ridiculous. i certainly dont want to waste the virtualization of this machine by installing truenas as the host os just to have access to shared storage. this seems very counter-intuitive to me, perhaps someone can enlighten me on a better way to handle this, besides adding a san server, which i will do later on, i just didnt expect the raid array to be useless. thanks in advance!

XCP-ng does not offer an official way to share storage from one host to another. They have in their documentation which storage types can be set to shared. I would suggest NFS if you are going to setup a NAS.

I also have a video explaining the storage on XCP-ng:
