Routing Internet Traffic Through A Site-To-Site OpenVPN Tunnel

Good day

I am newbie here, just wanna know if you can help me thru this. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have 2 sites and I have the XG-7100 negate on both sides. We are planning to Route the Internet Traffic Through A Site-To-Site OpenVPN Tunnel.
Site A - 100MBPS IPL line
Site B - 100MBPS iGate

I have successfully configured it with the site A gateway as default on both sides, however we encounter latency issue. Is there any way to resolve it?

Looking forward on your feedback
Thank you and have a nice day ahead.

When you tunnel all traffic over to another site you are going to have more latency.

Hi Tom thanks for your response.

Is that mean there’s no any other way to solve this?

thank buddy.

Not really, when you tunnel all traffic over to another site you are going to have more latency because you are adding more hops for the data to get out.

Thanks tom appreciate your help.

How bad is the “latency issue”?
For example this would be normal:
A to 8.8.8.8: 20ms (10ms each way)
A to B: 10ms (5ms each way)
B to 8.8.8.8 through A: 30ms (15ms each way)

If you’re seeing significantly more latency than just the two parts added together, something may be wrong you can try to improve. Try doing a traceroute from a client at A and a client at B and compare the two.
