Point to Point or Multipoint options for a hypothetical wide area network deployment

I know there’s UBNT data link options, Aruba too, but what other makers of uplink/downlink tech is there in the market?

A side note: I read UBNT’s notice 10 months ago now, UNMS data links won’t work unless there is a UBNT gateway/router at the edge of the network. Any truth to that? Is there a work-around?

There is also Mikrotik, ignitenet, and Mimosa but i’m more of a fan of Ubiquiti.
