PoE Problem - USW Pro Max 48 PoE

The other day I was trying plug a G3 Bullet to port 27 and I could not get it to work. After 4 trips up a 14’ ladder checking the wiring, I plugged the camera into a random port, port 12 and it worked.

I see that port 12 is lightning bolt-dot (PoE +) and port is lighting bolt-dot dot (Poe++). I always assumed the camera auto negotiate what it needed.

here are the setting on port 27, I see that PoE is PoE++

Really confused on this one… Sorry, I know this is a stupid question but I not even sure how to google this issue.

Yes it should negotiate properly in either case. PoE++ includes backwards compatibility with PoE and PoE+.

What is the exact problem that you experience? The camera is not turning on at all?

I have the same switch and my G3 Flex just dropped out from Protect. I had to remove, reset, and readopt to show up. I was surprised, because I only updated the firmware, nothing else changed.

This is how this started … The camera just stopped working one day. I took it down and reset it and it started working again. But once I went back up the latter and hooked everything back up, switch , patch panel , to camera it didn’t work.

@brwainer That camera just doesn’t want work on any of the PoE ++ ports. Because I was just looking I have another G3 running on port 25 that is a ++ port.
