physical and logical

Hi

I’m trying to get my head around VLANs.

Is it possible to connect everything physically to a switch that has VLAN management and then logically configure the ports to change which router

For example I have a 48 port switch, a VDSL modem which uses a tag of 101. I have 2 routers which runs pfsense.

You can have one logical port on a device and then assign multiple VLANs to that port.

Thank you

So would a trunk or hybrid port not strip the vlan tag that my isp has set

Trunk should allow the VLAN tag to pass but many switches only allow VLANs that are defined in their config to pass.
