pfSense OpenVPN fails to start

Hi There,

I am getting the following error in the system log.

Jan 13 08:02:13 php-fpm 319 /vpn_openvpn_server.php: The command ‘/usr/local/sbin/openvpn --config ‘/var/etc/openvpn/server1/config.ovpn’’ returned exit code ‘1’, the output was ‘Options error: In [CMD-LINE]:1: Error opening configuration file: /var/etc/openvpn/server1/config.ovpn Use --help for more information.’
Jan 13 08:02:13 php-fpm 319 OpenVPN failed to start
Jan 13 08:02:13 check_reload_status 358 Reloading filter

I am not seeing any errors in the openVPN log area. I have the logging set to 10 and can’t figure this one out. I tried to create a new VPN and it does the same thing.

Is there a system check that will check over all services and files in pfSense?

Thank you

This sounds like a corrupt file. Are there any indications of the drive being corrupted?

Also, did you attempt to manually modify the file in any way (such as from CLI)?
