Hi All,
I recently upgraded from my old USG to a Netgate SG-2100.
Seems to be working; however, its dropping the internet connection every 5 minutes on the dot. It resumes almost immediately, but it is causing problems with the apps I’m running. Its also playing havoc with my phone running on wifi.
I can’t seem to find any logs that relate or I’m not finding all the logs? Maybe I need additional logging?
I am super new to this software so any help or ideas are greatly appreciated!
Do you have any extra packages installed?
In installed packages it says aws-wizard and ipsec-profile-wizard.
I’ve heard that some users have issues with monitoring the gateway. You can try to change the monitor IP to something else like 1.1.1.1
Thank you for the reply, but I’m not sure what that setting does. I can’t find it in the docs.
I can’t find anything in the system that shows any sort of issue, log indicator, or connection issues. I’ve been looking thru every setting one by one.
I just know that while I am typing or doing something, it will pause for a few seconds and then let me proceed with whatever I was doing. (Like typing in this forum got paused twice.)
I also have a chat room open which is the biggest indicator. Everytime there is a “pause” it gives me a connection lost popup and then a connection restored popup when it comes back.
Ok - I found in the docs for the Monitor IP that you recommended. I applied that change. Now I’m waiting for the 5 min period to be up. lol
Nope - didn’t fix it.
Oddly enough, I tried to run a packet capture and it stopped at that 5 min mark when everything else did. So that didn’t help.
I can’t help but wonder if maybe my connections are timing out or something. Any other ideas?
It is literally happening every 5 minutes on the dot it disconnects and reconnects. Which leads me to think it is a setting. I can’t find a way to log it or figure out how to prove my phone is doing it also.
