Has anyone used pfsense for a Free/Paid captive portal. We want to offer a paid tier that is self-service.
I would prefer to run it on the network level rather than the AP level. The UniFi APs are very slow at roaming when using a captive portal sometimes re-prompting for access. Plus we would like to offer the same tiering on a wired connection.

I tried this with pfSense and some 3rd party software a couple of years ago, it worked but was clunky (I don’t remember the name of the other program). I have also used the captive portal and payment options that are included with the UniFi stuff BUT I think there are problems with the way that processes payments.
If you find a solution please post it up, I would be super interested.
