Patching NVENC in Fangtooth

What’s up guys? Installed Fangtooth the other night and got everything up and running. Coming from a regular old Ubuntu or Debian server background, I’m not used to having write access to places like /usr when it’s needed. How do you guys go about patching your NVIDIA drivers for Plex, to allow it more than 3 simultaneous HEVC transcode streams? I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. I got the drivers installed, and everything working with the GPU passthrough. Tried to install dev mode and unmerge the /user directory to make it writable, but I ultimately failed. When I unmerged /usr, the unmerge took libbvidia-encode with it. How are you guys going about installing and patching Nvidia drivers? Is there a guide written somewhere for Fangtooth?

TrueNAS is an appliance so I don’t change things in the underlying OS. If you need that level of control I would recomend running a standard Linux distro.
