Optimizing a connection between two servers

What gear should I use to optimize the connection between two server? I am most interested in latency, since it is a critical thing. For now I just have a 1Gb link, but looking to upgrade to 10Gb, should I go for SFP+? And since the servers are close together what cables do I use DAC or AOC?

If they are close and for 10GB use DAC.

Hi thanks, but isn’t AOC that has lower latency, since it is basically fiber?

The latency differences are very small.
