Yesterday I had to reconfigure WAN2 on our Netgate 6100 for our new fiber connection because WAN1 is faulty. I previously had OpenVPN setup for staff and after reconfiguring, I could not figure out how to reconfigure each users settings to get them connected. I opted to create a new OpenVPN server which automatically chose port 1196, and create new users. However, a new issue has occurred, when this VPN is connected it interferes with Outlook connecting to our Exchange server. Not exactly sure what I did incorrectly, I’m not using Port 1196 on the exchange server or within Outlook, confused.
Case 1 - Connect OpenVPN client and activate, open Outlook, cannot connect to Exchange server.
Case 2 - Open Outlook , connected to Exchange, activate OpenVPN client, Outlook is unable to send email and sometimes disconnects. Turning off VPN Outlook reconnects and sends mail.
