Newbie Network Question

I am new to the world of networking, and currently setting up a network for my home. I am using a UDM pro, USW Pro XG 48 PoE, and a USW flex XG.

I have several VLAN profiles set up including a Trunk profile which is (1) Native 192.168.1.0 -allow all, and (100) Home - 10.10.100.0- allow all

The UDMPRO and USWPRO connect with trunk profiles

The USWPRO uses port 45 set as Trunk to connect to Port 1 on the USWFLEX – both ports configured as Trunk

Layer 3 switching is enabled for VlANS on the USWPRO, except for the native VLAN

I have two computers on Ports 2 and 3 of the USWFLEX, both configured to Home VLAN

Everything seems to work as intended, I can ping other devices on other VLANS from either computer

Both computers will connect to each other with Remote Desktop

But I CANNOT ping between the computers, and I don’t know why. Is this normal?

thanks

pc’s within one VLAN should ping each other.

pc’s from different VLANs should NOT ping each other.

they are in the same VLAN

each VLAN has its own DHCP and DNS. Did you configure them?

yes, and I am using profiles for the port config as well

Are the computers running Windows 11 24H2 Pro by any chance? I had this last week & it turns out that even with the network profile set to private, you need to explicitly allow ICMP - this is new, previous versions allowed ping by default.

Thanks, one of them is, I will fiddle with that

did you figure it out?

Do you have ICMP allowed on the PC’s firewall?

Thanks xMAX, that did it
