Netgear routers

Netgear kit was decent when they were owned by Bay Networks. Ever since then their kit has declined into low end commodity appliances and lousy support.

If your own one of these affected devices, you are better off switching to pfsense.

How? The free replacement and discount is for Netgear products.

Step 1. Place Netgear kit in recycle bin and abandon their free/discount offer.
Step 2. Buy an appliance from https://www.netgate.com or https://protectli.com
Step 3. Run open source enterprise class firewall from https://www.pfsense.org

Or get a lawer and ask for your money back. It’s not a good time to buy new gear.

A quick read of Netgear ToC’s, you are basically SOL

Just dump the product go with pfSense. Companies that will not stand behind their products are not worth the headaches and deserve to go the way of the dodo bird.
