MS-01 All-in-one box

Looking to try and create an all-in-one box for testing that is portable. I’m pretty set on the MS-01. My goal is to run XCP-NG and then run TrueNas w/ a couple of containers, one-two Ubuntu desktops, and one Raspberry Pi Desktop.

I plan on buying the MS-01 with the i9 13900H and putting in the max 64gb of ram and 3 nvme 2TB drives. I might take out the WiFi card and use that slot as the boot drive to run XCP-NG.

I guess my question is do I partition everything out from XCP-NG or do I have to dedicate the drives out in the bios, especially when it comes to truenas?

Also, does this sound unachievable. I’m not looking for a need for speed just something I can use to test out different ideas but also try and create a physical copy of what I have in the cloud.

TrueNAS works best when not virtualized and in XCP-ng 8.3 nested virtualization is not working so I am not sure how well containers would work nested if at all.

Thanks Tom for the insight. I guess my only other option would be two MS-01 and run TrueNas on bare metal. Or run a 1U rack for TrueNas.
