MLAG Stability on Mikrotik

Anyone here have experience using MLAG on Mikrotik? Is it stable yet? I’m considering different switches to replace a stack of Catalyst 3850s. One of the switches on my shortlist is the CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM. I’d like to use MLAG if possible, but I’ve read about stability issues and other bugs with Mikrotik’s implementation. Does it seem to be stable now? Does it work as well as one would expect a couple of stacked Ciscos to work?

Thanks!

I had to look this one up, but it seems that once you create the LAG and add it back to the default bridge things should work. There are a LOT of posts complaining about performance issues though so I would say it’s a gamble.

This has been my challenge digging into doing MikroTik for doing some videos, they just seem to be a bit buggy.

Switch OS or Router OS? Or doesn’t it make a difference?

I thought only RouterOS supported MLAG. Even if Switch OS did support MLAG, I’d probably still use RouterOS just in case I need any of the other features it supports.

To my knowledge MLAG is only supported on RouterOS

Hmmm… That does indeed put a load on the cpu then, and most of these devices are a bit under powered. Wish I had more time available right now, I could try with my CRS326-24s+2q+ and the little CRS 309-8s+1in switch and see what happens. I have a feeling the 309 will be the let down in this pair.
