Mailcow server and DNS question

HI Team

Quick question

I’ m a rookie here trying to learn.

I’m trying to set up a Mailcow on docker. Do I need a DNS locally or can I use PFsense DNS resolver for my needs? Or should I get unbound DNS

I own a domain already with google domains. FYI

I have not use Mailcow so I don’t know if it has any unusual requirements, but for local servers pfsense should work fine as the DNS server.

You will need to setup an external MX record for the domain used for email. You should point it to your firewall and NAT port 25 to the internal IP of Mailcow. As for the internal DNS setup of Mailcow, I would follow Tom’s suggestion and point it to pfSense.
