JetKVM with triple screen setup query

Hi,

So a while ago I backed 2 JetKVM devices with the PSU board too.

They are arriving tomorrow, and I’m setting one of them up in a remote location on Monday (about 50KM away).

It’s going to manage a single PC that has a triple monitor setup. I haven’t seen the PC in ages and can’t remember but I think it is connected this way:
1 x integrated Intel GPU
2 x discrete nvidia GPU

I think the integrated uses HDMI and the discrete uses DVI.

From memory, I think the display used during boot up can be random.

How will the affect my usage, what is the best way to set it up for this. Does the amount of screens even matter?

TIA.

You should be able to force the Boot or BIOS display to the either the Intel or the nVidia card, but look in your BIOS. Then test to see how well it works. Note that this could change the layout between the three monitors.

Not sure, but will check Monday. I can’t remember coming across it. The machine is some old Dell Vostro [number here]. I doubt the option is there tbh.

If it is there, I wouldn’t care about screen layout as that is easily rectified.

Is the JetVKM pass-through display or how does it work? Like I don’t even know if I’ve got a spare display port on the machine, and if I do, it’s probably DVI.

I don’t think it is pass through, and definitely hdmi, so you may want to use an hdmi splitter to feed it.

So two of my monitors are hooked up to the GPU and one monitor is hooked up to the iGPU. What I had to do was plug in the JetKVM to the iGPU and then also set that and the other monitor as a “clone” setup, while keeping the other two extended. That way I have 3 monitors, with 1 being cloned by the JetVKM. It isn’t ideal but does the trick so far. I might experiment with the splitter/cloner adapters too later on.
