Is Ubiquity the alternative to my ring.com ecosystem?

I’m looking for an alternative to my Ring.com ecosystem for home security. Ubiquity is relatively new to me. Where is there a home deployment guide for cameras, flood lights, motion, and doorbells for me to decide if Ubiquity security video remains on-premise and never goes to the cloud?

Deployment how? Like, how to install the physical camera? Or how to set up the camera in UniFi protect?

Your data is all on premise and you have the option to connect it to the cloud. The cloud is not a requirement, but you may need internet access to update your NVR or whatever is hosting the UniFi protect.

Thanks for your response here – I didn’t realize the Ubiquity model is data is local only – unless you opt in to add it to the cloud. That is a total opposite from Ring.com! And your answer here led me to to the following : https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/31234972188951-How-UniFi-Protect-Protects-Your-Data

I use Unifi Protect with 6 cameras, and they only improved. Once I tried to fix a Ring doorbell that was already set up, without the subscription, I couldn’t even display a notification on a mobile device.
My mom’s place has 4 cameras, and they are out in the cold and warm. No issues at all.
