I first want to thank Tom for great videos. With video help and recommendations, I have invested in a Netgate router and Unifi wifi for our small business office. We are experiencing heavy ad click fraud. The network and server are ipv4. The originating clicks from Google are mostly ipv6. I am able to now see the ipv6 ip’s through my Clickcease dashboard and exclude them from visible ads by ip. My question is when I see an offending Ipv4 series like 172.59.230.*. Is it possible to exclude that series of ipv4 that are incoming as ipv6. An example would be 172.59.230.72 - 2607:fb91:78a:6f:782a:d086:5829:baba. If possible what would an example look like? I am an old guy trying to understand ipv6. I know I can block huge blocks if ip’s but can it be fine tuned?
Thanks for the reply. I have my Netgate router set up only using ipv4. My problem is Google ad clicks originate at Google using ipv6. So to exclude these ads from showing these fraudulent ip’s, it’s necessary for me to understand how to properly do this with out blocking more than I need to. This has to be done in the Google interface.
I can block the ipv4 at the router. When that happens I still get charged for the click.
Thanks again, I have learned much from your teaching.
Yes, Google has a place that you can add Ip’s to exclude. I can ad a single ipv6 or block a quadrant. I accidentally blocked most Comcast in my metro area … live and learn. So still searching for how to fine tune iv6 down to the ipv4 /24. It may not be possible but I will keep searching. Its funny I have asked Google 3 times and they always avoid answering the question.
