Intel x520 NIC does not show up in xcp-ng 8.1

This is on a Dell R710, It does show up in FreeNAS-11.3-U3.1. So I did some digging from console and xsconsole, did’t find the nic listed there either. Tried lspci-command and could see the following:

06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection (rev 01)

It’s currently not connected to anything, but that shouldn’t matter, I should see it anyway under available networks/cards in xcp-ng.

Any thoughts on why this happens?

Is there a driver missing?

Funny, I have to R710’s with that card, did at emergency network reset, and behold - NIC showed up. Should have tried this first.

Anyway, nice forum Tom & the rest.

Thanks, that saved me some time having to guess. I removed a i340, and installed a X520 in an HP Prodesk that I use as a server. XCP-NG wasn’t seeing the new card, even though lspci saw it just fine. Emergency reset cleared out old traces of the i340 and brought the X520 into view.

Great I could help. :grinning:
